An all-day trip to Horn Island requires some careful planning. Be
sure to take along a cap, long-sleeved shirt, sun glasses and sunscreen
to protect yourself from the fierce summer sun. You'll also need plenty
to eat and drink. And, of course, you'll want to be sure that you
have all the necessary tackle and plenty of bait for the species you're
after.

The
water around the island is the known home of the Speckled Trout
(spotted seatrout), Redfish, Flounder and a host of others. If
you like to wade fish, then you will love the seagrass flats of
Horn Island.

you ever had fresh Redfish cooked on a campfire for breakfast?
The experience is one that you will never forget. Imagine
crawling out of your tent early in the morning after a good
nights rest on Horn Island and wading along shore. You see
some nice swirls running through the bait fish in shallow
water and cast a lure perfectly into their midst. Redfish
hit like freight trains and the tight line, bent rod experience
is what fishing is all about. The only thing better is the
aroma and taste of Redfish, eggs, grits and potatoes cooked
